What needs to be done NOW, post Mumbai terror attacks

Yes, indeed India should snap all ties with Pakistan, till the issue of terror-across-the-border is solved. No way are they going to get away with, we-have-not-done-it-attitude, and we-are-also-sufferers of the same kind of terrorism. A rouge state like Pakistan, will understand only hard-talk, and we have to do it.

According to me, the borders should be completely sealed; the train from India to Pakistan should be temporarily suspended, till Pakistan shows us some concrete steps. Former United States secretary of state Madeleine Albright has very rightly described Pakistan as an ‘international migraine’. So, how do we combat a migraine? We take a bitter-pill, or isolate ourselves.

Pakistan has to be economically isolated by the world-community. Today the target is India, tomorrow it will be some other country. It is indeed sad, but it is true, that for the follies and incompetence of its government, the aam-admi (Common man) of Pakistan has to suffer the scorn of the world.

This is indeed a wake-up call for us and also for those peace loving people of Pakistan to do something in concrete terms to pressurize our respective governments to take steps to combat this.

Regarding bureaucrats being guarded by commandos, they should be stripped off it, and we should insure that a public-movement with the help of the media is launched to make them aware, that not them but the general public needs protection. The pay-scales of the police and officers-in-uniforms have to be revised, state of the art equipment is given to them( the pre-historic rifles should be buried), and any possible help should be given to them.

Last but not the least, bumbling politicians and bureaucrats should be shot…( I call upon all the professional-supari-killers to gain some brownie points by doing their fellow-country-men a favor)

We badly need professionalism in the govt offices. I wonder if they even know the definition on professionalism.

And for Christ sake, please stop corruption.

When we have honest and able persons in administration, corruption will automatically get vanished. But the problem is that we do not have such people around thus the situation is full of corruption.

If Pakistan wants to truly distance themselves from Lashkar-e-Taiba in the eyes of the international community, their government needs to extradite or at the very least arrest the men that have been identified. A foreign nation does not simply create a fake list of people based in another country with full contact details & records. There is always proof shown and to not act on that proof is a crime in terms of international law & failure to show goodwill.

If it truly is Pakistan AND India vs the terrorists ... ARREST THEM. NOW.

No. India should not react in haste. India and Pakistan both are facing the threat of terrorism. We should also try to understand the catch-22 situation of the present Pakistani rulers who have to strike a balance in their actions at this crucial juncture. On the one hand, they cannot displease the local perception i.e. hatred towards the neighbour India as Pakistan’s birth is based on hatred while on the other hand the Pak rulers realise the grave implications of terrorists’ activities.

Pakistan should take action against people involved. We all know that the terrorist training camps are running inside their territory. The govt should ensure that they stop such activities immediately. We need action from Pakistan's side otherwise India will have to do something. We cant let the people of India die on the streets every other month.

I strongly feel Pakistan is just a part of a big game.. after all how did this dirty game start? The British were responsible mostly for this problem.. and the West too has taken advantage of this situation in the past.
with the backing of powerful countries India will surely be able to combat this problem...

Pakistan will never hand over any people to India-as there is no such treaty between the two countries. It can and will try such people in it’s own courts if India gives proof. So far all India has done is make wild allegations;as it always did before.
