Hello Nishi,
This is one of the bold and uncommon links that you have collected and posted in Instablogs.
The article makes no more than a passing reference to the conditions in France, Everything was scarce and food was rationeed and France had to live with the inevitable authoritarianism of the German Occupation.
May be under those conditions and circumstances this ”anything goes” existentialistic way of life as philosophized by Simone de Beauvoir and Jean Paul Sartre, in their alternate way of thinking, had its own positive sides. The people of France were ”alive when all around was falling to pieces”
And, somewhat aside from the article, why does the world continue to have the erroneous subconscious notion that a ”good” woman is one who is ’morally’ conformist? There are women who are ’morally’ faithful by circumstances or even by choice choice but wouldn’t fit into the definition of a good person. On the other hand a lot of ’easy’ women could be very good as persons.

@Siva very interesting observation. One of the reasons why a morally conformist woman is considered to be good is because morals are very intrinsic to a person and help to define an individual.
