Extremely worrisome, what is a parent supposed to do? Let the child do everything and anything? My heart goes out to the parents, who I am sure never anticipated this to happen.

Very sad. And whats even more worrying is we are hearing these kind of stories often.
Kids and even adults nowadays seem to be loosing their ability to accept a no leave alone a rejection or a failure.
As a parent thats making me quite worried.

Yes, precisely, it is extremely stressful. We maintain our cool, but even a little bit of discipline can lead to such a horrendous thing?

Stupid kid...values that WII more than his own life. What was he thinking?

I guess more than stupid, he was being very very sensitive about a very small issue...but one wonders how do parents handle this?

Its most stressful in todays times to be a parent. The most difficult task is to know where to draw a line between freedom and discipline. I too am a mother to 2 kids and am caught up in a constant turmoil. At times I too show my disapproval for some issue sternly....and then when I walk out of the room, I am scared! What if the child reacts irrationally?

With number of suicide cases of students being reported by the newspapers everyday, I am more nervy as my daughter loves to scan the newspaper. They can unknowingly feed ideas to those kids who are ignorant about such life-threatening tantrums.

The society is unable to educate the parents as well as kids as to how one has to live in this world full of options.
This is becasue we do not give adequate importance to education of moral and values.
