This is not chewable for sure. The guys would next goto Bill Gates’ or LN Mittal’s house and crib asto how he’s living in a luxury house while some people in the same town dont get 3 meals a day.
One shouldn’t forget that with development that India has sen post 91, job opportunities have increased. Today, a Reliance or an ITC outlet in a village would offer jobs to people around there. He should also look at redistribution of Income figures for India which inncreasingly is gettinng plateaued.
You cannot stop rich from spendinng money off their accord or else why crib about someone living-off 50 cents a day -it is enough to get own cooked food. Where is the dividing line between penury and luxury?
I seriously think that India is progressing and people are increasingly becoming aware of need to take care of poors and that is why orgs like GiveIndia, CRY exist. Where do these get funds from? I am sure a lot of enlightened rich are contributors to the same.
To sum up: Money needs to be there in the first place for it to get redistributed. Flattening divide between society is a continuous process and shall continue. You can’t stop Haves from having Emporios.

Though I agree with what Sanjay says, I still feel the divide is too pronounced in case of India...and stark reality hurts! ”Have money, will splurge” maybe the philosophy of the super rich, but to that extent the urge to do something for the upliftment of the poorer section is too less.
